The Qualicum Beach Historical and Museum Society was incorporated under the Society Act of British Columbia on March 29, 1984. Subsequently, it was revised and updated in May 2014. The Constitutional mandate of the Society is outlined below.
The mandate of the Qualicum Beach Historical and Museum Society is to acquire, preserve and present its social history, natural history (paleontology), aboriginal history and archival collections, in a manner consistent with its resources and capabilities, to promote the interest, support and involvement of area residents and visitors and contribute to the cultural and economic development of our community.
The Board of Directors agreed that, given the current state of our development, the Vision would consider a time horizon equal to the length of our Strategic Plan.
The Qualicum Beach Historical and Museum Society will partner with other organizations to promote the cultural and economic development of our community. The collections, operations and programs, along with our rejuvenated museum facility, will be consistent with the high standards and progressive approach expected of a community museum.
The Vision will be re-visited at least every five years to ensure that it remains appropriate for our capabilities and activities.
